Technophobia

Today has been one of those days when all electronics refuse to work. First my main computer has a hardware error so it kernel-crashes all the time. Thankfully using Mac OS X you know that there is a hardware problem because it never crashes otherwise. After a lot of testing my guess is the video card so I’ll try to borrow a card from my brother.

Then my DVB satellite card refused to work. The provider I use have recently changed cards and encoding so my Dreambox doesn’t seem to update the keys on the card properly. I had to take out my old Nokia satellite receiver to get the card up to date.

Then the TV started to act up again. I’m getting flashing red color on-screen. I unplugged everything, but the flashing remains, so it’s something wrong with the set, not a loose plug.

And I thought that gadgets was here to make life easier?
