System alerts and QuickTime audio both work normally.

Having been cut from the cloth of cheap bastards myself, I raise my goblet in praise of all cheap bastards everywhere.

BTW, there is another IAX phone for Mac at http://www.loudhush.ro/index.html, though it appears he hasn't done a Universal binary for it yet.

A small suggestion: if you desire a barrage of beta testers, you should submit JackenIAX for listing on both macupdate and versiontracker. I was too lazy to submit it myself.

Not a peep from either the built-in sound chip on the mobo (Realtek ALC850) or from a USB Plantronics headset. Just a quick question, what sound card do you have in your pc? Do you get sound from other programs?

I actually had the VU-meters, made them for a project that never became anything. But their are not the only reasons for the program, I made the program because I didn't want to pay for an IAX client. I'm a cheap bastard :-)

Thanks for the comments. Just a quick question, what sound card do you have in your pc? That was a quick test. When I get a new HDA, I'll install 10.4.4 and give it another go. I suspect that the entire app is merely a delivery system for showcasing your VU meters. Am I right or am I right? :)

And while we’re on the subject of Mac OS X (10.4.3 8fffffg) running on generic PC hardware, I’m evidently able to dial and make an IAX connection to FWD using JackenIAX, however, there is no sound, the mouse gets all jerky while the call is in progress (activity on the VU meters), and top reports JackenIAX consuming 20-46% CPU.
