Fingers crossed

For the second time I have my Canon EF 70-200/f4 L lens in for adjustment. The lens have a back focus problem. The difference in focus compared to before adjustments? None. Canons repair center is outsourced to an other company here in Sweden, and you got the feeling that they haven’t a clue. So far, I got promised three times that they’ll look at the problem directly and call back. When I call thee days later, it’s still on the shelf. So I got the feeling that this is going to be a horror story until (if ever) this is fixed. Searching the net you find a lot of unhappy customers with the same problems when using the Canon 10d or 300d camera bodies. A lot of reports from users in the US seems to get the problem fixed when sending in the camera and lens for calibration, but here in Sweden you get the feeling that the repair crew is totally inept. If I compare the “Professional” lens with my plastic $70 80-200, the expensive lens is blown out of the water where focus is concerned.

If they still haven’t managed to fix my lens/camera I’m going to demand that they exchange my lens for another one. And if they refuse I’m going to put up a stinker and become their worst nightmare. Buying a lens that they call a lens for professionals you would expect to be treated like one when you have a problem with it. But no.
