It doesn’t take long to fill a new hard disk. On my stationary G4 machine, the system disk is almost full, again. But then I read about a program called Disk Inventory X, a free utility that maps your hard disk and shows you the stuff that takes up a lot of space. Give it [...]

Dual layer DVD burner in G4 Quicksilver
July 11th, 2004 · Comments Off
I bought a cheap 8x DVD +- burner made by NEC ND-2500A. Then I installed a new firmware on it, using a win pc. Some hackers have discovered that the dual-layer drive, ND-2510A is the same drive physically as the 2500, so they made a new firmware. This firmware adds the ability to burn dual-layer [...]

July 6th, 2004 · No Comments
Gartner comes out with another fantastic report about the iPod being a security risk. By plugging it in to a computer on the inside of the firewall, viruses and other stuff could spread on the internal network.
Here’s another sollution. Get a new provider of operating systems, to replace one that itself provides a security risk. [...]

100mbit/sec
July 4th, 2004 · 1 Comment
So I upgraded my internet connection to 100mbit/sec. This is something that I would have thought that I would do in three to four years, but it’s a reality now. All I had to do was to enable it on my admin page at my ISP (and also get a bigger bill next month!) and [...]

Ran across an article that ponders around screen resolution. It’s about time to make an operating system that’s really resolution independant. He brings up a couple of good points.
With computer screens getting better and better, it’s time to provide for resolution increase without making everything smaller, it’s just supposed to get sharper.
It’s also time for [...]

Sync

There’s been a lot of discussions about the new features in Mac OS X Tiger, but here’s what I think is great.
API for developers to create syncing with iSync Now we hopefully don’t have to wait for our PDA, phone, mp3 player or whatever to be able to sync up the addresses and calendar in [...]

Matchstick Men

The movie Matchstick Men was pretty good. After seeing a couple of really bad movies, but not bad enough to laugh at, It’s refreshing to stumble upon a good one. And Nicolas Cage makes a great performance yet again. One of the few of the actors in Hollywood that can and dare to play quirky [...]

Updated to WordPress 1.2
July 1st, 2004 · 3 Comments
I finally got around to upgrade to WordPress 1.2. Why? Haven’t a clue. Maybe time to try out some plugins maybe?
Had some problems with WP-Photo, had to replace all $siteurl with get_settings(’siteurl’) in the file WP-Photos.hack.php. But now it’s up and running.
