Let’s all cry wolf!

There will be a time when someone manage to create a virus for Mac OS X. But lately there’s been a lot of phony virus alerts, mainly from companies trying to sell virus scanner programs for Mac OS X. But because there is no known viruses on Mac OS X, they have to make some up. Trying to sell anti-virus software for Mac OS X must be like trying to sell condoms to eunuchs. So far it’s a stupid idea. But that doesn’t stop them from trying. And a little lying doesn’t stop them either. If someone writes a shell script that needs to be installed manually on a machine with admin privileges doesn’t count as a worm or a virus in my book. But you get a feeling that reporters in love with Microsoft feel a need to find faults in other operating systems to justify their own stupid choice in software.
