WordPress 1.5

I couldn’t resist any more. So I have now moved over my blog to version 1.5 of WordPress. My first idea was to do a total redesign before upgrading, but I just want to try it out, so I ported my old horrible design to a theme for 1.5
thanks to this great guide. I’ll try to find a nice looking theme to base my next design on. The Kubrick design made by Michael Heilemann that’s installed by default is great looking, but there’s already like
30.000 sites using it. So I’ll hang on to my old design a while longer. The great thing is that it’s really easy now to just switch designs.
There is a great new function that let’s you handle generic pages, making WordPress a bit closer to a CMS type of system. Hopefully this is an area that will be expanded in later versions. I also like the new Dashboard in the Admin area. There you get a summary of the latest posts and comments and also news about WordPress.

I considered upgrading, but wasn’t sure it was worth losing the hacked PHP files (stupidly enough, I didn’t bastardise my style sheets exclusively). I then decided I’ll wait for WP2 to make the effort worthwhile.
