Tough to be a tough guy

June 12th, 2005 · 2 Comments

Today when driving home from a walk with the family, this guy in a new Corvette convertible drew up beside our old Volvo. Long black hair, open shirt with golden medallion, typical Saturday Night Fever feeling. So naturally I started to rev the engine, just to annoy him. But when I looked to see if it worked, I saw that my five year old daughter Mira had winded down the window and was pointing her hand like a gun at the guy, and then gave him the thumbs down. He looked generally miserable.

Just a friendly point… Usually when I pull up next to people in Volvos, the drivers often look wistfully at my car as if they are considering what life might have been like if they had chosen to get the car they always wanted instead of playing it safe…

Incidentally, I found your blog by searching for Corvette and Powerbook while looking for a way to mount my 1Ghz 17″ Powerbook into my… well… Saturday Night Fever inspired bright yellow Corvette convertible.

Anyways, cool blog… but Volvos aren’t for everyone. :-)

Hehe! It’s not like I hate fast cars, and Corvettes are fast. If you look in my Video section you’ll find some footage of my old Chevrolet. Kids, family and being Swedish usually means buying a Volvo sooner or later, so no disrespect at all.

    Rock on!
