I have been searching for a bug in my IAX client program I’m writing. I thought that there was a problem after running my program that made the output hardware go haywire. But after looking around in the Apple Support forum, I’m not the only one with this problem. When playing back sound in any program, the machine starts to loop a short piece of sound and increasing the volume. It’s like an feedback echo. This only occurs on the new high-res powerbook models (15 and 17) I really hope this is a software problem and not a hardware one. And as usual No one in the discussion forum is an Apple employee, so no answer yet on what the problem is. I have bitched about this before, but how hard could it be to just have a couple of guys roaming the discussion forums and try to find an answer to the problem when a lot of people complain about the same thing? Most people I know would go to the discussion forum to search before calling Apple support, so if they had someone answering they would lower the cost of phone support.

ABOUT THE ECHO PROBLEM on the new “Power”Books
ALLOT of us (Probably everyone who got the new PowerBook) are expiriencing this Echo Looping Problem where sounf goes in to a loop.
I have tried ALLOT of things to solve this issue. Sorry to say NOTHING Works!
YOU ALL HAVE to Call APPLE CARE NOW! THEY are Obviously Choosing to IGNORE Us!
They have to clarefy if its a Hardware or a Software issue! And then they have to give us a Emidiate soultuion! If it is a Hardware issue affecting all the New PowerBooks they Have to Make a RECALL (by law we have the right to claim this).
If it is a Software issue (I doubt it though) Than they NEED to tell us this STRAIGHT AWAY! And then they need to give us a DEADLINE for a FIRMWARE update ASP!!!
Call apple and push them on the issue at hand. Ask them to read the Most rapidly growing Powerbook forum on the Net: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=240423&tstart=0 And ask them what they are doing about it and WHEN we will have our Resolution. Dont hang up unless you feel you actually got some real facts and information. Allso make sure you get a case ID number. Next time you call them again on this matter you will just mention your number/case ID and this will save you allot of time explaining yourself.
So please everyone we have had this Mailfunction for more than TWO Months now! Its Urgent that YOU CALL APPLE TODAY!
I can not stress this hard enough.
