I’ve been really annoyed with Eagle PCB because it has a bug on Mac OS X for a long time. When working with a PCB, pressing the middle button on the mouse for scrolling a layout, the program crashes. Thankfully I found a workaround.
Workaround
It’s really simple actually. It doesn’t work in all situations, because there are some serious problems with the scrolling part, but here’s one way of improving the chance of not having crashes. When starting Eagle PCB it normally opens the latest project you’ve been working on. Here’s the thing, don’t start working on the project! Close both the schematic and layout file. Then it’s just a matter of opening the document again and everything is much less prone to crashing. Weird? You bet, but it’s a workaround.
If a document continues to constantly crash, I usually uses “Save As…” and give it a new name and that sometimes also improves the chance of not getting crashes.

Assuming the issue is the same one I'm thinking about. You may want to try resizing the Window before you start working on it. Does this fix the crashes?

Yes, I always resize my windows before starting to work, because the standard window size is microscopic ;-) Great to see that Autodesk seems to work hard to reinvigorate Eagle. It's about time.

Are you using a High Res display (4k) ?
I'm just trying to gather as much info as possible so that we can reproduce the crash and squash it.
I'm using a MacBook Pro 15" with a Retina screen. High-res, but not quite 4K.
