car.
The aim was to be able to get an American car to handle well. Sounds like an oxymoron but I think I managed quite well.
The car has a 355 ci Chevy V-8. It includes ported Corvette aluminum heads. Hydraulic roller cam and a 750 cfm Holley carburetor.
The rear axle is a race built Ford 9-inch. I changed from an
automatic transmission that exploded to a manual Richmond 5-speed racing
gearbox. I installed polyurethane bushings throughout the car, and also installed a racing front and rear swaybar. The car also has a full roll cage. The front brakes are from a station wagon and the rear brakes are from Baer Racing.
I lowered the weight of the car from 2 tons down to 1550 kg. It has 17″ aluminum rims. I finished the project like nine years ago and done no upgrades since then. I think that I was pretty early with the pro-touring thing, at least here in Sweden.
I have had some fun moments in the car. Maybe I’ll upload some crazy videos from inside the vehicle when trying it out.
Unfortunately, I blew the engine a couple of summers ago, and with kids and family, I don’t have the money to build a new engine. I have a 400ci block that I´m rebuilding into a stroker 417 ci monster when I get hold of some cash.
